Essence Jennings, Owner, MS, LPC
Ms. Jennings holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology, complemented by a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling. With over 5 years of dedicated experience, she has enhanced her expertise in working with children, adolescents, and families across various professional settings. Her professional journey encompasses roles within local agencies, private practices, school districts, and specialized programs such as the Child & Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Services. Furthermore, she has contributed to a research study focusing on brain development and child health in the United States, highlighting her commitment to advancing knowledge in her field.
Ms. Jennings specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques (CBT) and has received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). Her passion is to assist people with processing events to gain better control over undesirable behaviors, cognitions, and/or emotions. She provides evidence-based approaches with a customized treatment plan on a case-by-case basis per client. She treats people who are experiencing challenges with behavior, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, adjustment difficulties, and self-injurious behaviors.
Ms. Jennings predominantly uses CBT and a Solution Focused therapy framework. She uses a collaborative approach to ensure active involvement and engagement from her clients. Additionally, she enjoys incorporating activities to maintain the client’s focus and attention. Ms. Jennings prides herself on providing affirming, validating, and responsive care.

Ms. Jennings offers flexible scheduling, with open availability during the summer months. Afternoon and evening appointments will be mainly offered from August through May. She accommodates diverse client's needs and preferences with professionalism and care.
